SKOOL21 offers STEM learning opportunities for learners aged 11 to 13 years. Each group has a different solution to the same problem based on their critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication. The electronics kit provides learning with a chance to understand electronics and design unique solutions to the given problem using the components in the toolbox. There is no direction, but an initial basic understanding is provided, which works as a basis for learners to design solutions.
STEM Resource Book used in the course offers STEM challenges aligned with the National curriculum objectives of General Science for grade 6. It develops learners’ communication, critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity as they are challenged to design and build custom-built electronic circuits based on the given problems in groups. Where they collectively brainstorm and construct it together with different roles. Learners get an opportunity to convert their learning into making, building, testing and evaluating projects in which they are highly engaged and have a fun learning experience. These projects enable the development of a maker mindset and leadership from the experience of working with the team to achieve set goals.
