More than coding: five kinds of growth
The five pillars are present together in every one of the 224 hands-on projects from Level A to Level 12.
STEM skills
Engineering, science, mathematics and computing, taught through building. Every project runs a full Define, Build, Test, Improve cycle.
Social skills
Collaboration, communication, critical thinking, empathy and presentation. Every project assigns real team roles, plus structured reflection.
STEM career literacy
From Level 1, every project introduces a real STEM career. Students meet more than 150 careers across the pathway.
Sustainability literacy
From Level 1, every project names a specific Sustainable Development Goal.
Academic reinforcement
Maths and science content from the school curriculum is practised inside each project. Every project names a specific NGSS, Common Core or Cambridge strand.
Which goals each level works on
Early levels connect one concrete goal to a physical build. Later levels widen the range as real sensor data comes in.

From tactile building to professional fabrication
| Stage | Languages and software | Design process | Core skills gained |
|---|---|---|---|
| Foundation Levels A to B | Pre-code, tactile mechanics | Simplified cycle: Plan, Do, Improve, Review | Fine motor skills, spatial reasoning, early energy concepts |
| Primary Levels 1 to 3 | Coded blocks for sensors and motors; Scratch | Full cycle introduced: Define, Design, Share, Reflect | Automation logic, circuit design, input, process, output thinking |
| Elementary Levels 4 to 5 | MakeCode block coding; advanced sensor arrays | Full cycle on open-ended real-world problems | Autonomous robotics, conditional logic |
| Middle school Levels 6 to 8 | MakeCode with AI-integrated block programming | Full cycle, missions driven by real system data | Technical and data literacy, multi-sensor analysis, statistical reasoning |
| High school Levels 9 to 12 | C++ and Python; CAD in Onshape | Full cycle at professional grade, independent capstones | Professional coding syntax, independent design, digital-to-physical fabrication |
The same ten social-skill competencies are reinforced at every level: collaboration, communication, conflict resolution, presentation, critical thinking, problem-solving, reflection, teamworking, empathy and respect, and time management.
Every project follows the Engineering Design Process
Foundation levels use a simplified cycle. From Level 1, students work the full cycle and keep the evidence in their workbook.
